Case Study: Sunfyre’s Homecoming Concert Poster & Social Media Graphics

Role

Designer & Photographer

For Sunfyre’s Homecoming concert in Costa Rica, I was tasked with designing a high-impact poster and social media graphics that captured Sunfyre and Fractal Sun’s bold, intense energy. The goal was to create a design that would stand out in a crowded music scene while staying true to Sunfyre’s aesthetic—dark, dynamic, and visually striking. Drawing inspiration from concert photos and poster art, I developed a composition that blended intricate illustration with gritty textures and high-contrast typography. To ensure accessibility for Sunfyre’s diverse fanbase, I created both English and Spanish versions of the poster while maintaining a cohesive visual style. Additionally, I captured the Sunfyre’s photo featured in the design, ensuring the imagery aligned seamlessly with the overall composition.

Beyond the physical poster, I adapted the artwork into a square-format social media graphic for platforms like Instagram and TikTok, providing both an English and Spanish version for targeted promotion. This ensured consistency across digital and print, reinforcing Sunfyre and the band’s branding and building excitement for the event. The final designs were met with an overwhelmingly positive response, with fans, Sunfyre, and the band embracing the artwork across social media.

Before diving into the design, I curated a moodboard to refine the artistic direction, pulling inspiration from classic metal posters, high-energy concert photography, and bold, textural elements. This process helped establish a distinct visual tone that resonated with Sunfyre’s identity while making the event feel larger than life. I truly enjoyed bringing this project together—from concept to execution—knowing it would play a role in elevating such an important show for Sunfyre and the band. The final designs contributed to a record-breaking attendance for a metal show in Costa Rica, making this an incredibly rewarding experience.
